RLT is 21 Months Old!

Our little girl is 21 months old today!

Sweet Angel is growing so quickly.  We look at her while she is sleeping and think, "Gosh!  She is so long!"  We can't believe how tall she is compared to when she was a tiny baby!  In addition to growing taller, her hair is growing longer and longer.  In fact, she got her first hair cut this summer - just a trim.  No worries, though.  Her soft, blond curls are here to stay!

Bugga is starting to run, and by run, I mean take tiny little steps very quickly while pumping her arms.  It is darling!  What is not cute about this is when she runs away from Mommy or Daddy when she is being told to do something else.  Most of the time, she redirects without incident...not all of the time.  She also enjoys marching, "jumping", and "skipping".  In fact, she has shown great leadership skills by gathering Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Honey Dearie, and Pop in the living room with her to Skip to My Lou.  What took us all a minute to realize was that she had gone to sit down and watch as we all continued in a circle!

Sweetie's eating habits have been inconsistent as of late.  Some days she eats like she's starving, and other days she eats like a bird.  She still loves berries of all kinds, bananas, spaghetti, breakfast burritos, cheese, and yogurt.  What has surprised us the most is that she likes to eat some of our spicy Thai food that we get every now and again.  The girl doesn't flinch!  We are very proud of Angel Face because she will try most anything-usually after a few minutes and you're not looking.  What's hilarious is when she tries to scrape it off of her tongue when she doesn't like it.  Broccoli is the best!

RLT's vocabulary seems to grow every day.  We are at the point where we cannot count the words anymore, but some of our favorites include elp you (help you which means help me) and come on Mommy  or  come on Daddy.  She waves her little hand at us to tell us that she really wants us to follow her.  It's great!  Of course, our favorite is still la...la...yoooouuuuu!

Big Girl's favorite things at this stage are Sesame Street, coins, and rocks from the neighbor's driveway.  She continues to gravitate toward books and is beginning to sing along with familiar songs.  Poor thing is tone-deaf, but we are hopeful!  Ha!

Girlfriend was turned around in the car this summer so she faces the front now.  We thought she would be more excited, but she didn't seem to care.  What has bothered Mommy and Daddy recently is her obsession with the door handle in the backseat.  All of sudden one afternoon she opened the door while we were driving down the street.  Daddy jumped out and remedied the situation, but boy are we finding it difficult to discipline in the car.  Thank goodness for child safety locks that are now in effect.

We are continually in adoration of our sweet little girl. She has a kind and loving soul and brightens up every single one of our days with her sweet smile.  She is both fiercely independent and desperately a momma's girl all within the span of 2 minutes.  She is growing up way too fast and it's hard not being able to spend every waking hour with her, yet on the other hand, she's almost two, is constantly curious, and is almost impossible to keep up with; it's hard spending 2 minutes alone with her!  We wouldn't change a thing, though: she fills our very souls with joy.  However, come January, all of that may very well change. :)
