Week 23 & Our 1st Anniversary

What a busy week!  Chad's job is in full swing, packing is taking over our lives, Mom and I went to visit Grandma Honey Dearie in Gulf Shores, AL, and we even managed to celebrate our 1st anniversary!

Chad is currently working for a law firm downtown.  He knew it would be casual when he came home from the interview in a suit and tie and described his future boss's attire to be shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.  After a few days of dressing up for work, he decided to put away the ties and go for the short sleeved polo.  He almost feels like he's back at Topikal in Atlanta!

Every fall mom and I go visit my Grandma Honey Dearie in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  With a November due date, we decided it would be best to move our trip up a little bit.  So, southbound we were!  It was a wonderful trip (as it always is).  We caught up and shopped.  We ate, or should I say I ate and then ate some more!  You can't go wrong with fresh fruit from the local stand and mom's home cooking.

That brings us to our 1st anniversary!  I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by.  We've been busy planning a wedding reception in December, participating in a sprint triathlon in April, graduating from Law School in May, and growing a precious little girl all the while!  All I can say is that this has truly been the best year of my life!  I love you, Babe!

Our Wedding - July 16, 2011

We went to Corbett's where we had our Wedding Dinner in 2011.  It was amazing just like we remembered!  They even had a name card for us on our table like they did the previous year.  Yummy!

Jeremy, this picture is for you!  I don't know how they make an ice ball, but it was pretty cool!

Week 22

So, I was getting ready for church recently, and had a moment of panic.  I have a regular women's dress that has elastic, and I thought I could still fit into it.  Let's just say that I now understand why most maternity dresses have a zipper!  After I got it over my head and one arm in, I began to struggle.  Imagine one of those "Special K" cereal commercials where the women are flailing around their bedrooms trying to get their clothes to fit.

I had just about settled on the idea that I would be wearing this dress, just as it was, for the next several hours until Chad got home from his own church when I managed to get that dang thing on!  SUCCESS!  Needless to say, I have officially packed that dress away until next summer!

Week 21

It's been a busy week of packing and paperwork as we prepare to close on our new house on July 19.  As far as packing goes...it stinks!  While both Chad and I have moved our fair share of times as young adults, neither of us has properly packed before.  I don't think I've ever washed so much newspaper ink off of my hands!  We look like a bunch of lushes because half of our boxes came from liquor stores.  (My mom suggested using the wine and liquor cases with the dividers to pack our glasses.  Great idea, mom!)

I didn't realize how many glasses we have until I kept having to go back to the liquor store to get more boxes with dividers.  (Again, insert "looking like a bunch of lushes" comment here!)  So packing we are.  While I would just as soon pack every single thing in our condo today, Chad has slowed me down.  He's right.  We still need a plate or two and maybe even a couple of forks for the next two weeks...I guess!

Also, this week, we were invited to a Louisville Slugger baseball game with some friends, Patrick and Crystal.  Thank goodness the first pitch wasn't until 7:00 in the evening.  In fact, once the sun went down, it didn't seem so hot anymore.  Chad and his drinks might disagree, but my frozen lemonade and I felt just fine!

As far as our baby girl goes, all is well.  She has her own little parties in my tummy (she sleeps for two hours then parties for another two), and I would have it no other way!

Week 20 - Crazy Temps at Camp

Our little girl is really starting to pop out this week!  She is about the length of a banana from head to bum.  I can only imagine how long her arms and legs are!  If they're anything like her mom and dad's, she'll never be able to find a long sleeve shirt or pair of pants that fit properly!  Ha!

This week has also been very special because we have started to feel her move around!  I was so thrilled that Chad was able to feel her too!  She's not super strong yet, but I can definitely tell that she enjoys chocolate milkshakes just as much as her daddy.

Additionally, we spent the week at the very place where Chad and I met eight years ago, Camp Wa Kon' Da-Ho.  We had a blast!  The heat was intense at well over 100 degrees, and a water main break mid-week added to the humor of it all.  Let's just say that when 106 people are walking around camp with gallon-sized jugs of water from every store in town, a little bit of bonding and a whole lot of laughing occur!

Hydrate!  Hydrate!  Hydrate!
By the end of the week my feet were quite swollen.  I'm hoping that this isn't a sign of the next 20 weeks of my life, but just a result of uneven ground and extremely hot temperatures.  Only time will tell!

We returned home on Chad's birthday, June 30, to do one of his favorite things, nap!  It was glorious!  Happy Birthday Babe!  I love you more and more every single day!
