An Extra, Extra, Extra, Extra Special Week

This week has been tiring but good.  Chad has been doing some contract work for a lawyer here in town.  I am so proud of him for looking in every nook and cranny for work.  We are confident that something will pay off in the end.  We're just not sure what or when "the end" is!  Regardless, he has some work now, and that is good!

Thursday was an extra, extra, extra, extra (that's four extras!) special day because one of our best friends delivered QUADRUPLETS!  Yup!  April carried those sweet babies for over 32 weeks at home!  Not one of them has been on oxygen either!  It is truly amazing.  I get chills every time I think about them.  Way to go April and Shawn Thomas!  You now have five amazing children that could not have better parents!

Friday evening was spent with Dave, Julie, and Curly Girl.  RLT and CG played, loved on each other, and passed smiles back and forth.  It was so precious.
And Saturday was spent wishing Kelly Bon Voyage!  We are living vicariously through her as she moves to New York and explores.  You are so brave!

Grammy Came to Visit!

Grammy came to visit this week!  It was so nice spend time with her as she looked for houses!  Grandpa, you're brave.  Chad would never let me do that without him!
It was such a nice time.  We celebrated being together...

And then we celebrated by leaving RLT with Grammy to go on a date!  Thanks Grammy!  We can't wait for you to come back real soon! ;)

RLT's 22nd Week

This week has been very exciting!  Not only did Chad passed the Bar Exam (See this post!), but RLT also found the kitties and her thumb!

RLT is 5 Months Old!

Our little girl is five months old today!

Our precious little girl is sleeping through the night!  After going to bed around 7:45pm, she won't wake up until 5:00am.  She will eat and then go straight back to bed until 7:45am when it is time to wake up.  What a blessing!  Because she isn't eating so often in the middle of the night, she is definitely eating more during the day...not more often, just more milk.

RLT is so happy!  She makes her mommy and daddy feel so special when they walk in a room. Her smile stretches a mile, and her bright blue eyes shine.  She continues to make sweet sounds with her voice, and she has also learned to make raspberries.  She doesn't necessarily make these sounds when she has an audience.  However, if you sit at the bottom of the stairs when she is laying in her crib at the start of a nap, you can hear a whole concert of oohs, ahhs, and raspberries.

Our pretty girl now reaches for things with both hands.  As soon as she has a grasp, it immediately goes in her mouth.  Her drool continues to increase along with the cute bubbles that rest on her lips!  RLT can hold her head up steadily now and can roll over from tummy to back.  It's so cute!  She's almost relieved once she does it, as if all she wanted in life was to be on her back!  She can push her body up with her hands like doing a push up to the point where she can lock her arms.  She can sit up with assistance on our laps or in her Bumbo seat.  When being held, she will let us hold her facing in now that she can turn her head from side to side and see what's going on.

Speaking of "seeing what's going on,"  Sweet Angel definitely likes being a part of things.  I'll rephrase that; she likes observing.  If she's in one room and hears something fun going on in another, she will let you know that she needs to be moved!  She continues to smile at everyone as long as she is not tired.

Buga's favorite new place is her Johnny-Jump-Up.  At first she just spun around on one foot like a ballerina, but now she is learning to bounce.  She also still enjoys her exersaucer because she can reach and manipulate the different toys that are attached to it.  It's so fun to see her discover how things move and work.

Baby Girl's favorite two toys area dolly and those small blankets with a character's head attached.  The dolly's arms, legs, and pigtails are the perfect size to hold on to and put in her mouth.  And, she loves to suck on the little blankets.

Wake-up Time and Bedtime are definitely favorites for the mommy and the daddy.  In the morning, RLT greets Daddy with a smile and a jolt. (We've never seen someone so happy to wake-up or be woken up!) She enjoys looking out the window at a new day and exploring the view.  She enjoys getting a fresh diaper and is always excited to see what new outfit she'll get to wear.  There are always fun songs that Daddy sings to her and she doesn't hesitate to smile and sing along!  Sweet-cheeks loves the mornings!

In the evening, she has begun reaching for the pages of the books and "turning" them.  Our little girl is becoming a reader!  Then, while singing You Are My Sunshine, she will gently reach her hand toward your face while staring into your eyes.  There's nowhere else in the world that we'd rather be!

Easter and Spring Break

Happy Easter!

It was Spring Break, so I was able to stay home with our precious little girl.  We had such a good time playing together this week.  I especially enjoyed feeding her and not pumping!!!  While she was not always thrilled about tummy time, we were determined to have an official and consistent roller by the end of the week.  Success!

We also introduced her to the Johnny Jump Up.  It was a little strange for her at first, but now she has a good time.  She can't quite reach the floor with flat feet yet, so she tends to spin like a ballerina on her tip toes.  It is precious!

At the end of Spring Break, the temperatures outside finally warmed up to the 70s.  We took our first walk on Grandpa's Bridge, Big Four, across the Ohio River and bank.  It was really pretty cool!
