Week 28

Chad wanted in on the action, so we switched picture-taking-roles for a moment.
He's going to kill me for posting these! ha!
ENJOY!

Besides taking pictures of our growing daughter, Chad's evening energy is spent mostly in the garage or mowing the lawn.  I'm so grateful that when he has energy at night, I have energy in the morning.  I'm hoping this will come in handy in a few months!

Week 27

It's been a busy week this week.  It's back to school time, and that means more change for the Turner family!

We moved Leigh back in to her classroom on Monday and Tuesday. She had to move out because of renovations to her school and was not allowed to move back in until 2 days before her class showed up on Wednesday! Talk about time crunch.  We worked a couple of long days getting her classroom into shape, and those days paid off.  Her classroom looks great and ready for kids. If you want to read more about the renovations and see some pictures http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20120815/NEWS01/308160013/Changes-greet-12-000-students-Oldham-s-first-day-school, Leigh's school was featured in today's paper!

The best part of Back to School this year is that for the first time in 6 years, I don't have to go back!  Leigh and I are definitely happy at the prospect at moving on from the schooling chapter in our lives :)

We are also slowly, but surely, getting the house just the way we like it. I'm whipping the lawn into shape with my Reel lawn-mower and have a rudimentary start to a compost pile that will go on a brand-new garden in the spring.  We are in the process of sanding and painting new doors for the inside of the house and are ruminating on plans for refinishing a chest of drawers for the nursery.

Busy, Busy Indeed!

Week 26 - Chad the Electrician!

We spent last weekend with some wonderful friends, Mike and Heather, in Midway.  Mike smoked some pork, and it was absolutely delicious!  During our visit, I was invited to the McColl House of Baby Clothes.  I have never seen so many little girl clothes.  I kid you not.  There were six or seven enormous Rubbermaid tubs and they were only filled with clothes sized 0-12 months!  I don't think their daughter has ever worn the same outfit twice!  Heather said her mom has a gift for finding deals...well, thanks Heather's mom!
We can't thank Heather, Laura, and Courtney enough for their hand-me-downs.  While I'm not quite sure yet exactly what we have collected as far as clothes go, I can tell you all one thing.  Our little girl will be well dressed!

As we settle into our new home and I get back to some professional development meetings at work, a few maintenance projects have taken place.  One in particular made me a bit nervous, but Chad assured me that he could handle it.  He tackled some switches that we wanted changed and did so successfully!!!  Who knew, right!?!?!?  I promise my confidence in your handy-work is growing, Babe!
Are you sure you know what you're doing?

hmmm...

hmmm...

Thank goodness the power had been turned off to the house!

My fingers are too big!

I bite my lip when I concentrate like little kids do when they color!

Notice the lights are back on in the room!  Hooray!

Finishing touch

I did it!  Now, quit taking pictures!

Week 24 & 25 - Home Sweet Home

We just closed on our new house!

It has been a busy couple of weeks as we have moved from our first condo to our new house!  We are so grateful for all of the help of our parents and friends who have cleaned, painted, planted, cooked, caulked, cut a counter and even donated a weed eater!  Thank you Mom, Dad, Mama, Gary, Allison, Dave, Julie, Curly Girl, Jeremy, and John.  We are overwhelmed with your generosity, and can't thank you all enough!
