RLT is 21 Months Old!

Our little girl is 21 months old today!

Sweet Angel is growing so quickly.  We look at her while she is sleeping and think, "Gosh!  She is so long!"  We can't believe how tall she is compared to when she was a tiny baby!  In addition to growing taller, her hair is growing longer and longer.  In fact, she got her first hair cut this summer - just a trim.  No worries, though.  Her soft, blond curls are here to stay!

Bugga is starting to run, and by run, I mean take tiny little steps very quickly while pumping her arms.  It is darling!  What is not cute about this is when she runs away from Mommy or Daddy when she is being told to do something else.  Most of the time, she redirects without incident...not all of the time.  She also enjoys marching, "jumping", and "skipping".  In fact, she has shown great leadership skills by gathering Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Honey Dearie, and Pop in the living room with her to Skip to My Lou.  What took us all a minute to realize was that she had gone to sit down and watch as we all continued in a circle!

Sweetie's eating habits have been inconsistent as of late.  Some days she eats like she's starving, and other days she eats like a bird.  She still loves berries of all kinds, bananas, spaghetti, breakfast burritos, cheese, and yogurt.  What has surprised us the most is that she likes to eat some of our spicy Thai food that we get every now and again.  The girl doesn't flinch!  We are very proud of Angel Face because she will try most anything-usually after a few minutes and you're not looking.  What's hilarious is when she tries to scrape it off of her tongue when she doesn't like it.  Broccoli is the best!

RLT's vocabulary seems to grow every day.  We are at the point where we cannot count the words anymore, but some of our favorites include elp you (help you which means help me) and come on Mommy  or  come on Daddy.  She waves her little hand at us to tell us that she really wants us to follow her.  It's great!  Of course, our favorite is still la...la...yoooouuuuu!

Big Girl's favorite things at this stage are Sesame Street, coins, and rocks from the neighbor's driveway.  She continues to gravitate toward books and is beginning to sing along with familiar songs.  Poor thing is tone-deaf, but we are hopeful!  Ha!

Girlfriend was turned around in the car this summer so she faces the front now.  We thought she would be more excited, but she didn't seem to care.  What has bothered Mommy and Daddy recently is her obsession with the door handle in the backseat.  All of sudden one afternoon she opened the door while we were driving down the street.  Daddy jumped out and remedied the situation, but boy are we finding it difficult to discipline in the car.  Thank goodness for child safety locks that are now in effect.

We are continually in adoration of our sweet little girl. She has a kind and loving soul and brightens up every single one of our days with her sweet smile.  She is both fiercely independent and desperately a momma's girl all within the span of 2 minutes.  She is growing up way too fast and it's hard not being able to spend every waking hour with her, yet on the other hand, she's almost two, is constantly curious, and is almost impossible to keep up with; it's hard spending 2 minutes alone with her!  We wouldn't change a thing, though: she fills our very souls with joy.  However, come January, all of that may very well change. :)

RLT is 18 Months Old!

Our little girl is 18 months old today!

RLT has grown in the following ways:
Weight at Birth  6 lbs. 5 oz.       Weight at 18 Months    24 lbs. 9 oz.
Height at Birth  19.75 in.           Height at 18 Months    31.5 in.

It seems like our little angel is developing at the speed of light!  Her skills and personality are blossoming daily.  In fact, the only trait that she got from her mother is her sense organization.  This girl loves the Clean Up song.  She loves putting things back where they belong.  If something is out of place like a stuffed animal in the middle of the floor she might even pick it up on her way to do something else.  Might!  On top of her tidiness, RLT has a ready smile.  She grins and laughs often.  Even her sweet eyes smile.

Baby Girl is definitely on the move now.  It's so fun because she walks with such purpose like she has such important things to do.  If this is foreshadowing of any sort, she is definitely going to go through life on a mission!  She thinks she is a master of walking so much so that she is attempting to run.  This doesn't always end well, but Bugga is tough.  She whimpers for a brief second or two, and then she's at it again.  As far as stairs go, she is beginning to want to step instead of crawl.  Her legs aren't quite long enough yet, but that certainly doesn't keep her from trying. (Insert Daddy's heart leaping from his chest!)

Sweetheart has 14 teeth now.  Her tastes are changing as she is developing.  While she's not completely picky, she no longer prefers green beans and sweet potatoes.  She still doesn't like salad, but she gives it a try every time we put it in front of her.  This makes us so proud!  Homegirl continues to love berries, spaghetti, grilled cheese, and even spicy Mexican food.  She is the hungriest in the mornings when she wakes up from her 13 hours of straight sleep.  (We know we are the luckiest parents in the world!)  The girl will pound a breakfast bar, some cheese, and even half of a banana before she heads off to Dodi for the day.

RLT has become the parrot in our house.  Her language is exploding!  She is just now beginning to put two words together with prompting from Mommy and Daddy.  She can say more please with her voice and sign language.  Just the other day, I told her that her shirt was too small, and out of her mouth came too sma.  I was shocked!  She knows too many animal sounds to count and loves seeing them at the zoo.  She says hi to them all and then makes their sound!  And finally, our favorite thing that she says is la la yooooh (I love you)!

Now that it is springtime, most of our love's favorite things revolve around being outside.  She asks to ride her bike every time we pull in the driveway.  She throws her balls and chases after them.  This actually keeps her occupied for 20 or so minutes!  She also loves going to the park.  Two of her favorite things are there - the slide and her boyfriend, Aiden.  They are so cute.  They just grin and chase each other around.  They've hugged and even held hands.  It is just too cute!

Girlfriend has begun to embrace her inner fashionista.  She absolutely loves an accessory.  From hair bows and necklaces, to purses and shoes, BabyGirl cannot resist the chance to add to her wardrobe.  This does not bode well for the future Turner budget.

In sharp contrast, however, Reb cannot stand to have her shoes on in the car.  Within 2 minutes of embarking on any trip, no matter the length, both of her shoes come off and are slung across the back seat of the car.   Her socks soon follow.  The game then becomes, "how much toe jam can I find to show Mommy or Daddy?" Thankfully there's not enough to hold her attention very long!

We love our rapidly growing girl more and more every day.  What a joy it is to see her absorb and interact with the world around her.

RLT is 15 Months Old!

Our little girl is 15 months old today!

RLT has grown in the following ways:
Weight at Birth  6 lbs. 5 oz.       Weight at 15 Months    22 lbs. 4 oz.
Height at Birth  19.75 in.           Height at 15 Months    30 in.

Our sweet little girl is so full of life.  Her personality is so thoughtful.  She seems to always be trying to make us smile and laugh.  We love it!  She leans her head sideways and grins until you do the same.  She blows kisses.  Her smile continues to light up a room, and it is never so bright as first thing in the morning when you enter her bedroom.  She is definitely a morning girl.

Angel Face is constantly on the move.  While she is a professional crawler and cruiser, her first step in her 14th month was one of only a few.  However, the girl is a master of the stairs.  It is almost frightening to watch her come down on her belly sliding faster than you can keep up.

Bugga's 10 teeth help her eat almost anything you put in front of her.  She still loves bananas and berries.  She also gobbles down black beans, quesadillas, spaghetti, lasagna, and eggs.  She has discovered the wonders of white bread and Reese's Cups.  You can't blame her for loving those two things!  Baby Girl is also beginning to use a fork and spoon as they were intended versus just holding them in one hand while the other puts food in her mouth.

RLT is adding so many words and sounds to her repertoire.  She loves calling for Daddy by shouting some resemblance of the sound "Da".  It's quite funny.  She has learned the word no as well as how to say it.  In addition to making several animals' sounds and babbling, she signs please and all done with little to no prompting.  If she wants something, she points her fingers as if she is shooting at it.  Her eyebrows also seem to raise to the top of her head.  It is precious!

RLT's favorite things include climbing in and out of things like her chair and carseat.  She absolutely loves being pushed around in a laundry basket.  She loves being tickled and playing Peekaboo. Most of all, though, she gravitates towards books.  (And, she is beginning to hold them the right way up most of the time!)
